About Michael Abney
Hair Fantasm is an idea brought to life by a cosmetologist Michael Abney. Michael began his career in Los Angeles, California, where his quest to learn the art of hair design took him to San Francisco and Southern California where he still consults on a regular basis. He is an artist with over 17 years of experience in hair design. Michael was fascinated by the science and challenge of creating healthy hair. He knew that there had to be a better way than the every day products and techniques currently being utilized in the cosmetology field. He wanted to break the rules. He found that the illusion of beautiful hair was what the industry focused on, and obsessed over. Michael never wanted to create an illusion; he wanted real color that lasted. He is a perfectionist and believes that if you do it right the first time and educate your clients there is no illusion. Your hair is genuinely healthy and beautiful. He will make a believer out of anyone who challenges him.

Michael became interested in the art of hair extensions but was never satisfied with any products available. Six years ago he discovered Great Lengths® at a hair show in LA. He was astounded and inspired by the new technique. Great Lengths are human hair strands with a patented polymer tip for application. The process involves strand for strand extension. The results are amazing! You achieve longer, fuller, healthier hair.

Michael is one of the first cosmetologists in California to be trained and certified to perform the Great Lengths¨ technique and is also the Great Lengths¨ educator for the West Coast.
